An Exciting Mountain Adventure to the Geometric Hot Springs
The Trek to the Geometric Hot Springs is an adventurous and exploratory experience that can be enjoyed year-round. With multiple routes and formats, this journey is perfect for those seeking an immersive and thrilling experience. The trek concludes at one of the most famous hot spring centers in the region, ranked third worldwide by National Geographic Travel in 2021.
Trekking Options
Summer Season
Villarrica Traverse Trail:
This 30-kilometer trek crosses diverse volcanic landscapes, shaped by ancient lava flows and lahar fields. Along the way, hikers encounter majestic araucaria forests, adding to the natural beauty of this endemic ecosystem of the Araucanía region.

Pichillancahue Glacier Route: A shorter 12-kilometer option, this route begins at the Pichillancahue Glacier, where hikers first witness the impressive ice formations descending from Villarrica Volcano. The trek continues through arid mountain landscapes, eventually reaching a mountain pass that leads into the dense native forest. From there, the trail descends directly to the Geometric Hot Springs.

Winter Season
During winter, this expedition transforms into a full-scale alpine adventure, combining mountain skiing with glacier crossings.
The journey includes three major challenges:
- Ascent of Villarrica Volcano
- Glacier crossing on skis at Pichillancahue Glacier
- Arrival at the Geometric Hot Springs
- Covering over 18 kilometers, this high-altitude trek follows the normal ascent route of Villarrica Volcano, reaching 2,600 meters above sea level or, depending on conditions, its summit.
Ski Descent:
The first section involves a technical glacier traverse, where guides lead the group safely, navigating numerous crevasses. The ski descent continues across wide, sloping plains, leading toward the southwestern slopes of the volcano. The final stage winds through a dense araucaria forest, guiding adventurers directly to the hot springs. This spectacular journey offers a unique opportunity to explore the breathtaking volcanic landscapes of Villarrica National Park, concluding with a well-deserved relaxation in the steaming thermal waters of the Geometric Hot Springs.

Year-Round Departures
Our excursions run throughout the year, with departures early in the morning regardless of the season.
Meeting Point
We usually meet at our offices located at Alderete 656, Pucón.
Hiking Routes
For trekking routes, distances range from 10 to 30 kilometers. Each experience is tailored based on:
- The guidance of our expert mountain guides
- Group dynamics and fitness levels
- Mountain conditions and weather forecasts
Winter Challenge Options
For the winter season, we also offer a snowshoe trekking format, which is a gentler and more accessible option for all participants. This route follows the Palguín to Coñaripe trail, leading to the Geometric Hot Springs.
If you are an intermediate-level ski mountaineer, we recommend taking the Los Nevados route to the Geometric Hot Springs, as it features flatter terrain and is less technical compared to the summit route from Villarrica Volcano.
