Lanin Volcano Ascent
The Lanin Volcano is the highest point in the region with a stunning 3747 masl. and 2600 meters of prominence from the base.
A perfect cone crowned by a glacier, it makes a perfect challenge for adventure and mountaineering lovers.

Located in the Puesco area, in the Curarrehue comune, just by the limit with Argentina, close to the Mamuil Malal pass.
An hour away from Pucón, the drive is scenic, going through beatiful native forest, vertical granite mountains, bending rivers, lakes and volcanoes.
Lanin Volcano ascent is considered a hard effort of 10 miles in distance and 8500 feet of climbing, so we offer two options for this tour:
- 1 day ascent: only for the fit looking for a challenge or people with mountaineering experience.
- 2 day ascent: includes camping at around 2800 masl and the attack of the summit starts early morning.
The second option is more relaxing and lets you take in the stunning views and natural beauty.
Experience the adventure
This volcano is an intense experience, with lots of wind, irregular ice, snow and volcanic rock. The slope does not ease at all, so we must follow a good rythm with short rests to gain time on our way up.

Up in the mountain away from the valleys, the wind is strong
The views from the top are stunning, with nothing standing higher. At our feet we can see the whole region, as well as Argentina. The walls and ridges of the Quinquilil Volcano and the Millallifen mountain range can be seen, too.
It is important to mention that, because of the terrain and weather conditions in this mountain, it is dearly recommended to go with our local and bilingual mountain guides.
We are highly capacitated to deliver a safe and personalized experience to enjoy and remember for a lifetime without running unnecessary risks.

In summary, the Lanin Volcano Ascent is an unforgatable experience for sports and nature lovers.
